Alumni Chair
Gavin Harrill
Gavin is an empathic and compassionate friend, father, partner, and professional, working as a psychotherapist and simultaneously studying for the National Exam for Marriage & Family Therapists. Growing up in Chicago, Gavin learned such values as volunteering and community service as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, which has continued to influence his adult life. As a man of action, he has truly led by example via volunteering for numerous organizations over the years. As such, Gavin was even honored as a recipient of the Gold Congressional Award in Washington DC, which is the highest award eligible for a civilian, recognizing his efforts in community service, professional development, and personal initiative and achievement.
Since then, he has served on several organizational committees and the Board of Directors, being a beacon of light by encouraging others to also step up, get involved, and become an actively contributing member of society by giving back and serving others. In addition to serving on the Board and assisting in KKACO’s Angel Makeovers, Gavin has taken on the role of Alumni Chair by contacting Angel Makeover recipients to follow up and to help ensure their extended transition into their newly renovated homes is as graceful and seamless as possible.
As a Marriage & Family Therapist in Colorado, Gavin’s services include pre-marital counseling, couples counseling, adolescent counseling, family counseling, divorce counseling, individual counseling, and Adlerian psychology. Gavin’s clinical areas of expertise include emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems, Adlerian Therapy, lifestyle assessment, family constellations, and birth order.
In his free time, Gavin enjoys cooking, grilling, and smoking meats and vegetables; completing his own home renovations … one project at a time; exercising, biking, and hiking; and even brewing his own homemade chai tea. Given the number of herbs, spices, and other super food ingredients and the prep time for said ingredients, making his chai tea from scratch can definitely be defined as a labor of love!
